Location Detection
Location Detection
The location detection question is used to determine the geographical location of the respondent.
Edit
Option
The options for the location question can only be selected from cities and regions. Click "Set Regions" to add options for the location question.
Basic Settings
Location Mode
The location question supports both manual and automatic location methods:
-
Manual positioning: A popup list allows the respondent to select their current location;
-
Automatic positioning: A location icon button is displayed on the page. When clicked, it determines the respondent's location using the hardware terminal's location function.
After setting up, the respondent will see a prompt on the questionnaire page to perform location. By clicking the location button, the system will automatically obtain the respondent's geographical location and select the matching option.
The location question has an unremovable "Other" option, which is used to categorize unrecognized geographical locations. If the location does not match any option, the "Other" option will be automatically selected.
Skip When Positioning Fails
Due to network conditions or user terminal permission settings, automatic positioning may fail. Considering the possibility of automatic location failure, when automatic positioning is selected, "Skip When Positioning Fails" can be checked. After checking, if the positioning fails, the mandatory response restriction for this question will be automatically lifted, allowing the respondent to continue with the subsequent questionnaire.
Collect Region Information Only (Not Used for Screening)
When enabled, the location question is only used to record the respondent's location result and does not affect screening decisions.
Regional Range
Different precisions for location information can be set, with options including: Province, Province + City, and Province + City + District.
