Ranking Question
Ranking Question
Ranking questions are a frequently used question type in questionnaire design. They ask respondents to rank options, providing insights into their preferences or priorities. Unlike single-choice or multiple-choice questions, ranking questions not only reveal the most preferred option but also show the relative ranking of other options. This offers richer data, helping researchers understand the structure of respondents' preferences. Ranking questions are widely applicable in fields such as market research and satisfaction surveys, aiding researchers in understanding user preferences and optimizing products or services. A ranking question focuses on the order of options, where respondents are required to rank the given options according to the question's instructions. The emphasis here is on the arrangement sequence rather than the specific options chosen, hence no output for the options by default.

To sort the options, respondents can drag the area on the right side of each option to move it from its original position to a new one. Once an option is moved to a new location, a ranking number will appear in front of it.

Option
- Sorting Target: After setting a particular option as the target option, the system will track the sorted position of this option. Based on the location of the target option, an option output port will appear at the sorting question node, allowing the setup of corresponding jump connections. These connections indicate that if the target option is ranked in the sequence corresponding to the output port's position, the system will jump to the next question from that point onward.
By default, only one option can be set as the sorting target, so the jump setting through the sorting question interface can only be set for one option at most. If multiple sorting targets are of interest, the Logic Node should be used.

Layout
Sorting questions offer various layouts and sorting methods.
-
Basic Template: Options are arranged by dragging and dropping. The sequence number positions remain fixed, while the order of options changes continuously.
-
Pick-Collapse: Options are arranged by clicking on them. Clicking on an option assigns a sequential number to it without needing to drag the option. Once an option has been assigned a number, clicking on it again will cancel the existing number and rearrange the sequence numbers of the subsequent options.
