Weighting
Weighting
After setting weighting Scheme, they can be used for weighted calculations of data. The data weighting function is an indispensable core feature of online survey questionnaire system software. It not only corrects data bias and improves data accuracy but also provides a scientific basis for complex data analysis. Through weighting, users can more accurately reflect the characteristics of the target population, optimize sample structure, and enhance decision-making quality. The weighting function adjusts data to reflect the distribution of the real population or target group, thereby improving the accuracy of data analysis. In multi-level and multi-group data analysis, it helps users more scientifically handle the contributions of different groups. At the same time, the flexibility and automation of the weighting function make it an essential tool for professional users and advanced analysis scenarios.
Creating a Weighting Scheme
Select the weighting algorithm you need. We offer three weighting schemes:
- Raked (Marginal Target): Also known as iterative proportional fitting or random iteration. It is suitable when you need to adjust the sample population to represent the target population but do not know the proportions of multiple characteristic groups.
- Cell-Based Weighting (Dynamic Interlocking Response): The weighting does not overlap. You specify target percentages for each response group totaling 100%.
- Static Weighting (Interlocking Response): The weighting does not overlap. You specify weights or multipliers to be applied to each response group.

Set Weighting Scheme
Enter the name of the weighting scheme and select one or more survey questions, and the system will automatically generate the weighting scheme table. In the table, each option of the selected questions can be assigned a current weight value, and the sum of these values must be 100%. Otherwise, the final weighting scheme cannot be created.

After the values are correctly set, the system will generate the weighting scheme.

When you need to modify the weight values again, you can click on Edit to re-edit the cell values.

Applying Weighting Scheme
Go to Statistic, Click on Settings and select Analysis Setting from the drop-down menu.

Select the weighting scheme you created and click Update. The system will recalculate the relevant data based on the settings of the weighting scheme.

It can be seen that after applying the weighting scheme, the quantity of each option for the target question is automatically adjusted to the set proportion.
